Belize stamps are one of the more interesting areas of stamp collecting, particularly to those who enjoy British colonial stamps and pieces from the earliest days of postage stamps.
As British Honduras, stamps in this area were first issued in 1866. British Honduras stamps (not to be confused with the stamps of the separate country of Honduras) included war tax stamps during World War I, postage due stamps, and relief fundraising semi-postals.
In 1973, British Honduras became the modern independent nation of Belize (after the city of Belize), and there are quite a few different stamps for collectors to choose from. In addition to regular postal-use stamps, Belize has issued maximum cards, airmail stamps, and souvenir sheets; there are also many covers, sets, blocks, minisheets, and other philatelic collectibles from Belize to keep collectors interested.

In 1984 and 1985, five unofficial stamps for the Cayes of Belize were issued, and have become collectible in today’s marketplace.
