During the end of World War I, as Russia fell into civil war, one of the anti-communist groups, the Army of the North, printed special stamps for its own use.
These stamps can be identified by the inscription ОКСА, which stands for Отдельного корпуса Северной армии, or “Army of the North Special Corps”. There were five stamps used by the Army of the North, ranging from 5 to 50 kopecks and using five different colors.
