When Austria occupied part of Romania during World War I, it used its KuK FELDPOST postage stamps with surcharges in the Romanian currency system of bani and lei. (These stamps were used by Austria in many different areas and were left blank at the bottom so local values could be printed on later.)
There were several different denominations used in Romania by Austria, from 3 bani up to 4 lei, that were issued in 1917. The same range was used for a new series in 1918, with KuK FELDPOST stamps that were almost identical in design to the previous group but had an extra empty box at the bottom where the name of the unit was printed, making it more legible.
