Queen Elizabeth II oversaw major changes in the postal history of Barbados. During her reign, which began in 1952, Barbados achieved self-governance (in 1960) and finally full independence (1966); thus, Barbadian stamps from 1952 until 1960 represent the last stamps used by the Caribbean island country while it was a British colony — the postal history that included stamps under Kings George VI, George V, Edward VII, and Queen Victoria had come to an end.
Since independence, Barbados has issued several stamps commemorating Queen Elizabeth, however; these are also beloved by collectors of British stamps as well as Barbados postal collectors.
Our selection of Elizabeth II stamps from Barbados is refreshed daily.
