After King Edward VIII abdicated the British crown after a short reign in 1936, King George VI took over the United Kingdom and its territories, including the Caribbean islands of the Bahamas. Like King George V previously, and Queen Elizabeth II later, King George VI was featured on numerous Bahamas postage stamps.
Collectors of colonial stamps, British stamps, and Caribbean stamps in general (as well as World War II era stamps) shop for Bahamas stamps with King George VI’s portrait on them frequently. Check the current selection in this section, which changes daily.
