During World War I, there were overprinted Antigua stamps used as war tax stamps. These special stamps were used between 1916 and 1918.
The overprinted stamps were regular Antiguan stamps of the time — specifically, the 1/2 penny stamps and a 1 1/2 penny version. Overprints on these war tax stamps are in either red or black.
Antigua war tax stamps for sale in the collectors’ marketplace today are usually priced at about $2 or less for a single stamp, more for a set or a block, or for certain historically interesting covers. Check the current selection of WWI war stamps from Antigua for sale; selection changes daily.
