Anguilla has been issuing its own stamps since 1967. Before that, Anguilla was under the administration of St. Kitts, and briefly a part of a controversial region called St. Christopher-Nevis-Anguilla. Following a revolution, Anguilla became independent and continued its stamp program.
The first stamps especially for Anguilla were the stamps of St. Kitts & Nevis with the English overprints ‘Independent Anguilla’; new stamps soon followed with the name ANGUILLA inscribed.
Anguilla stamps tend to be very well designed, and feature a range of subjects that appeal to many types of stamp collectors. There are many special philatelic items available for sale from Anguilla, including maximum cards, souvenir sheets, and other collectibles.
