The United States silver dime from 1837 until 1891 was the coin known as the seated Liberty dime after its obverse design, showing the allegorical figure of Liberty sitting on a rock with a staff and shield. The reverse had the phrase ONE DIME. The seated Liberty dime superseded the capped bust dime, which itself replaced the draped bust dime.
There are several collectible and rare seated Liberty dimes available for sale to collectors and buyers who watch the sales listings in this section. You may be able to find proofs, errors, and other interesting variations (of which there are many) that were issued before the Barber dimes took over in 1892.
