Hey there, fellow coin collectors! Stanley here. I recently went on a time-traveling trip to Papua New Guinea in 1988, and let me tell you, it wasn’t all puppies and lollipops.
When I arrived, the air was thick with humidity and the streets were packed with people going about their business. The buildings were a mix of tall and small, with peeling paint and broken lights. It was a bit overwhelming, to be honest. I could feel the sweat starting to drip down my back, and I wished I had brought a fan or some ice water with me.
Now, I have to admit that I wasn’t a huge fan of Papua New Guinea. There were a lot of political tensions at the time, and I had to be careful not to get caught up in any of it. The country was dealing with a lot of issues related to their independence from Australia, and I didn’t want to accidentally offend anyone or cause any problems. It was a bit of a relief when I finally got out of there.

But, I did have a job to do, so I started looking for coins. I figured a street performance might be a good way to attract attention and get people to give me their coins. I wasn’t exactly sure what to do, so I just started juggling some rocks and making funny faces. Surprisingly, it worked! People started crowding around and throwing coins at me. I managed to collect quite a few, but to be honest, most of them were pretty uninteresting.
After I got back to the present, I decided to sell some of the coins on eBay and keep some for my collection. I also gave some to a friend who was just starting out as a coin collector. I wanted to share the joy of collecting with someone else, and it felt good to pass along some of the coins that I had found.

As for the fate of the coins, well, most of them ended up selling for a decent price on eBay. I made a tidy profit, and I was able to use some of the money to buy more coins for my collection. I still have a few of the Papua New Guinea coins in my collection, and they’re always a reminder of my trip and the adventure I had.
In the end, even though Papua New Guinea wasn’t my favorite place to visit, I’m still grateful for the experience. It’s always exciting to explore new places and discover new coins for my collection. If you’re a coin collector, I encourage you to get out there and explore the world, whether it’s through time travel or just plain old-fashioned traveling.
