As it did in 1958, in 1971 Canada issued a special commemorative silver coin to honor British Columbia — this time, to honor the 100th anniversary of the colony’s becoming the Confederation of Canada’s sixth province in 1871. These special coins, usually housed in a special case with 1871 – 1971 on them, feature Queen Elizabeth II on one side and a coat-of-arms on the other.
The 1971 British Columbia silver coins come in different types of cases and housings, so check the listings to see what is available right now.
