FIND BRITISH INDIA GEORGE VI COINS FOR SALE

King George VI of England was the Emperor of India from the beginning of his rule in 1936 until India and Pakistan gained independence in 1947; his British reign ended in 1952.

George VI’s rule was a surprise to many — his older brother Edward VIII was expected to be the new monarch following the death of their father George V, but Edward abdicated less than a year after becoming king.

Indian coin collectors often are drawn to the Indian coins of the years 1937-1947 since they represent the last issues of the centuries-long British rule over the region. As history, they are fascinating; as numismatic collectibles, they are attractive as well.
