FIND BRITISH INDIA EDWARD VIII COINS FOR SALE

Edward VII of Britain, also Emperor of India, reigned for less than a year — following the death of his long-ruling father, King George V, in 1936, Edward VII became king but clashed with royal tradition and the wishes of his advisors. Wanting to married a divorced woman, which was seen as improper for a king, he abdicated the throne after 326 days. His brother George VI became king, and would be the last Emperor of India before the subcontinent’s 1947 independence.

There were no coins made for British India during the 11 months of King Edward VII’s rule; the only coins available to mark this period of Indian coin history are fantasy issues from later years. Some collectors insist on having one of these special pieces to complete their British Indian collections, while others go straight from George V to George VI.
