Aulus Vitellius Germanicus Augustus was an ancient Roman ruler known to history usually as Vitellius. Vitellius took power in the year 69, after a three-month reign by Otho that ended in suicide. Vitellius ruled for eight months before being killed by Vespasian, who would be the only one of four different emperors in that year who would survive to lead the empire for a substantial amount of time (ten years).
Vitellius coins can sometimes be hard to find for sale, especially the nicer examples of authentic ancient coins from his brief time. Copies can sometimes be found, and may appeal to many collectors looking to complete a series. Check the current listings.
