Hey there, fellow coin aficionados! It’s me, Stanley the coin collector, back with another wild tale of my time-traveling adventures. Today, I’m feeling pretty stoked about my trip to Cameroon in 1975. I mean, I got to score some sweet coins and experience some seriously off-the-wall stuff. Here’s the lowdown.
When I first arrived, I was in the middle of nowhere. No skyscrapers, no flashy cars, just a bunch of mud huts and goats wandering around. But I was up for the challenge. I figured out I was in Foumbot, a tiny town in the west of Cameroon.
Now, Cameroon in 1975 was a crazy place. They’d just won their independence from France a few years back, and they were still trying to get their bearings. Plus, the government was all about that socialism life, which was totally new to me. And let me tell you, the currency situation was a bit wack. They were using something called the CFA franc, which I’d never heard of before.

But I wasn’t deterred. I knew what I came for: coins. And I had a plan. I busted out my best street performance routine, doing some juggling and magic tricks. And let me tell you, those Cameroonians were feeling it. I got a bunch of coins thrown my way, including some in really good condition.
After I got back, I decided to share the love a bit. I gave some coins to a friend and put some up for auction on eBay. I was super detailed about the coins, describing their rarity, history, and condition. And people ate it up! I ended up making a cool $118 off those coins.
All in all, my trip to Cameroon was totally rad. I mean, I never thought I’d get to experience a place like that. It was wild learning about their history and culture, and of course, snagging some fantastic coins. And now, I’m gonna go add these babies to my collection and maybe plan my next time-traveling adventure. Stay tuned, folks.
