The United States created a silver dollar coin known as the peace dollar, issued from 1921-1928 and 1934-1935. The coin’s design was meant to celebrate the peace following the end of World War I. Following 1935, there were no dollar coins minted for general circulation until 1971 and the Dwight Eisenhower dollar. The year 1921 saw not only the first peace dollars but also the final Morgan dollars.
There are several great examples of peace dollars available for collectors and buyers, and the sales offers come and go quite frequently. Some collectors may hunt for the rarest and most exclusive pieces, while others may even look for replicas or more common peace dollars as part of completing their personal collection.
