King Leopold I was Belgium’s first king, and was in power when Belgium issued its first postage stamps in 1849. His portrait appeared on several stamps during his reign, which ended in 1865.
Later Belgian stamps, issued under the reigns of subsequent kings, have honored Leopold I as well; all such stamps may be found in this section. Come back often to see the newest Leopold I stamps from Belgium for sale; the selection is updated every day.
Leopold I’s successor was King Leopold II, who himself appeared on a number of Belgian stamps.
